Uzi & Ari - Headworms

9 out of 10

Uzi & Ari is the brainchild of (amongst others) Ben Shepard. Their new album 'Headworms' is a beautiful mix of indie, electronica and acoustic which is all subtley weaved together to offer a really uplifting, interacting album. The vocal is beautifully weaved in to the lush instrumentation. Everything about the line up works in sync, with well-crafted results.

One of the standout themes of this album for me is the string arrangements. They work so well and have obviously been put together with some serious thought.
Standout tracks for me are Headworms, Missoula and the beautifully short Hold Your Horses.

Uzi & Ari should be praised for offering such a delicate album. It's Sigur Ros on a pop level, with wonderful results! I think, with a bit of focus, this album could potentially transport listeners to another place, with the lulling melodies and weaving vocal lines. All in all, a minor masterpiece!
