Submitted: "Far, one of the touchstones of the mid 90's post-hardcore revolution have returned. Temporarily working under the pseudonym Hot Little Pony, the band leaked a newly recorded cover song of Pony on myspace www.myspace.com/hotlittlepony and performed two secret shows last week at the Glass House in Pomona and The Troubador in Los Angeles. Coming up the mid '90s in the same Sacramento scene that spawned brother bands, The Deftones and Will Haven, Far started rolling full force with their first break out album Tin Cans With Strings to You in 1996. By the time they released of Water and Solutions in 1998 the band was all but done. Their mark went deep into the modern day emo and alterna rock scene including Alternative Press naming Water And Solutions it one of the top ten most influential records of 1998 in a recent retrospective.
Of the reunion show vocalist Jonah Matranga (also of OneLineDrawing, Gratitude and New End Original) said of the show, "It’s hard to even figure out how the reunion happened, much less put it into words. Frankly, it really doesn’t feel like a reunion at all. It’s more like a conversation that’s finally getting finished. The first show was completely overwhelming. That’s the only word that keeps coming, overwhelming in the best way."
While there is no long term plans at the moment, more shows are to be announced shortly. For more information and tour dates, you can check out their website here: www.thebandfar.com"
