'The Blue Route' is the first single release to be taken from the Walkmen's new album 'You and Me'. Though in places it is a luscious daydream waltz and proof positive that there's far more to this band than their last meh release - these New Yorkers take a little bit too long to build the tune up for my attention span to cope with. And then, after all that, I realise, four minutes in that the song was never going anywhere anyway and I was disappointed.
Described by their press release as 'alternative wild cards' The Walkmen, are just a little too dull to capture the imagination of this particular writer and their tunes never quite realise the 'lush climax' promised by their blurb.
