Wicked, I thought when the Kerrang compilation popped through the door in the latest batch of review material, that's bound to make decent listening on the way to work this morning. In earnest, I whacked the CD into the player and headed through the track listing. Kerrang has certainly changed since it was the pinnacle of all things metal.a very long time ago. There are one or two gems on here - Slipknot's 'Psychosocial', Slaves To Gravity's 'Mr Regulator' and of course, the Cancer Bats tune, but come on, these tunes aren't the best of metal and rock from 2008 are they?
For instance, prominent on the album are some seriously old and over played tunes. Green Day's 'American Idiot' from 2004? 'Keep your hands off my girl' by Good Charlotte from 2006? 'The Kill' by 30 Seconds To Mars from 2006?
Come on Kerrang, don't patronise your loyal customer base. This is a compilation for idiots and children. Don't bother.
