In Secret Places, the latest offering from Bristol based surf punk outfit The Following Announcement should, in my opinion, be left in one. A place so secret in fact, that no one will be able to find it.
This record does nothing to break new ground and amounts to little more than a Green Day tribute act. Apparently taking the music world 'by storm' TFA are most proud to have been the main support for megastar, not, David Jordan in their hometown of Bristol and are described by the pinnacle of music journalism - Bristol Rock - as "tight as a fish's ass" (Incidentally, I had to add the apostrophe myself). But, I just don't see it. Sure, the music is as tight as three chords get, but it is really, really, really dull.
