The Atrocity Exhibit are a brutal assault on the auditory senses. Hailing from Northampton and the Devil's Layby (go Bill Bailey fans), Milton Keynes, TAE are a grindcore/doom/sludge outfit that whose songs are fast, slow and sometimes both. Both EPs demonstrate a relentless barrage of guitars, bass and drums that make you feel like your face might drop off at any moment.

The only problem with this kind of music, and it's probably down to my untrained ear, it is difficult to differentiate songs or even bands involved in the genre - and it is so hugely depressing, but I guess that's the point. The lads from TAE have nailed it though, and the two EPs are well recorded, as decent examples of the grind/doom/sludge scenes.

Not music to take your Gran to see live.
