Well someone has been listening to Foals, haven't they? The similarities between 'Nurse! Nurse!' and the Oxford band's singles are easy to spot: the shouty harmonies, obscure lyrics, the mix of hardcore and indie bands few other people have heard of, the fiddly guitar parts and jagged funk bass and beats. The Morphine 100ml edit doesn't really do much other than make it the same length as a Foals single, the original being less than a minute and a half long.
But perhaps that's a bit unfair on Nephu Huzzband, because their last EP, 'Papers', was very good and the B-side here, 'Lions, Tigers & Bears', retains some of the roughness around the edges that 'Papers' had. More importantly, it retains the marvellous Cure-meets-Fugazi sound that that EP showcases so well. It's a shame that they're not doing more festivals this summer (Only Endorse It In Dorset is on the cards) because, when they're not copying Foals, they have the potential to be real cult stars.
