Exit Ten - Remember The Day

I didn’t really take to the single recently released from this album, so what do they do? They place it as the opener on here.

Now, after my previous review of "Technically Alive" you may think I have a problem with Exit Ten. I don’t. They have the necessary musical "chops" and the vocalist has a pitch perfect voice, I just find it too sterile at times and very clinical.

The boys do a good job of trying to convince me otherwise on here. Having assembled a nice selection of melodic, modern metal songs that show enough promise and a desire to move beyond the confines of any kind of underground "scene" rubbish.

"Godspeed" and "Resume Ignore" are perfectly written and played metal songs. Containing very nice playing and a proper grasp of melody. They successfully manage to fit the two together without any blurring of the lines. The title track is the centre point of the album, a huge swathe of melodic riffing and soaring vocals. The boy can sing.

The almost balled esque "Perish" follows and goes onto prove Exit Ten’s talent no end. Achieving what many other bands can’t. They have actually fused the melodic and the heavy together and instead of jarring sections of either they can write with it.

Without a doubt better than I was expecting it to be. They deserve some attention for the achievement.
