Right, first up this only costs £1.99, so if you see it in a shop somewhere you should pick it up just on the off chance. Two quid? That's less than the cost of a pint, and if you don't like it you can always use the CD as a coaster or a bird scarer or something. There's a fair chance you will like it though because, well, it's great. There's a Hold Steady song on it, and if you haven't heard The Hold Steady already then you really, really should.
The rest of the songs are fairly varied - there are a few wafty acoustic songs in the vein of Jeff Buckley or Nick Drake, there's the like-the-White-Stripes-only-not-annoying garage rock of White Denim, the country blues of Micah P Hinson (Possibly my favourite non-Hold Steady track on there) and the Scottish drawl miserablism of Malcolm Middleton. There's more, but you get the idea.
This would be a decent compilation at full price, at £1.99 it's virtually a must have. Go buy!
