Evisorax - Enclave

4 out of 10

A 3 piece from Wigan formed in 2005 with this EP as a taster whilst the album is being recorded. Death Metal at origin listing their influences as Napalm Death, Circle of Dead Children, All Out War, and Testament.

I've been out of the Death Metal scene having only briefly visited, these days Dillinger and Meshuggah with visits to Nuclear Assault are about all I need in my fix of Speed/Death Metal.

The EP is very well produced, if the album shapes up like this then I doubt there will be people complaining about the actual mix of the instruments or how it was recorded, that's a good thing as there is typically a lot going on with these guys. Snarly low pitched vocals over a wall of noise is how I hear them, controlled and never straying far from the typecast Death Metal bands out there. Not exactly what I'd buy, but if this is your thing it is good.

I can't help hearing some repetitions in the songs though, not that I was looking that hard as I wanted to give them a middle of the road score, but that's why the score is lower.

They can play though, that's for sure. Might be a good band to catch live, they head out for a tour in October with Tangaroa.
