This is a little bit different to the usual Gizeh releases, and I reckon that's probably a good thing - I'm not convinced you can have too much of a good thing, but equally variety is the spice of life.

Enough platitudes? Ok.

Seriously though, after a slightly shaky start, after a couple of listens this is really starting to grow on me. It's kind of like indie bands like the Editors slowed down a bit and fleshed out with dense, layered almost orchestral music as well as lush guitars. The vocals took a bit of getting used to for me (they're a little bit too close to Morrissey. I HATE Morrissey) but once I got over that I found myself really enjoying this. Definitely one for in the bath or on the sofa though, it's not good driving music.
