What a life Karim Fanous has already lived, he has travelled and lived all over the world with his family. When he settled down in England, he became a Britpop child, following the definite kings; Oasis, and was at one of the same gigs that I was also at in Earls Court.

It obviously made a big impact on him, as he picked up a guitar and started writing songs. With a debut album already under his belt, Karim has also won the best singer / songwriter award at the 2007 Glasswerk awards. Going by this double A-side, I really want to hear more and his first album 'Stir Crazy'.

Drama Queen is a tale of a relationship, and the poor man who is under the thumb to a lady who makes more of a meal of all situations. Superbug is all about the funny misunderstandings that happen with dating and how relationships can quickly change.

The vocals on this release are excellent and really suit the brilliant music. The drums really carry the tunes and the guitar work is top notch. After reading about Karim, I was disappointed not to hear him play the harmonica, another instrument that he plays. You don't get enough harmonica in today's music, and that's one reason why I really want to hear his first album.

This single was a real surprise for me; I like the simple and clever artwork. When I started to listen to it, I found myself really taken with it and must have easily listened to it about 5 or 6 times straight through.

I would highly recommend this single and to definitely look out for Karim Fanous the artist.
