The ingredients for a classic recording are nebulous; emotion, 'feel', clarity, power.the list is endless and varies from person to person and recording to recording. One thing most will agree on, though, is that conveying the sheer sense of joy a band feels for the music they play is almost impossible to replicate in a studio. Shenaniganz have, though - along with a name Justin Hawkins probably turned down for being too cheesy and the honoured title 'Best School Band in Germany 2006'.

But belay that sarcasm, for this band do indeed capture the fun at the heart of rock n'roll - all that 'cool' business can come later, so long as you can play and enjoy some decent songs. There's nothing earth-shattering here, just music perfect to bounce off walls and drink to - the sort of stuff AC/DC used to breathe and Jet managed once. They've burnt neat enjoyment onto a CD. How may other bands have done that?
