The Tempus - Follow You

People have had fun playing 'sounds like' with this particular sunny Bradford trio. The band themselves name-check Cream, Hendrix and Buckley. The Sandman mag hears the scream of Foo Fighters. The Grauniad says "Imagine the Verve crossed with Led Zeppelin". Your humble scribe's take on all this is that, at first, it appears someone has slipped a copy of early Mitch Benn demos into the case - from the days before he decided to ape Bill Bailey and was attempting an indie Thin Lizzy. The closest we get to Zeppelin is that the Tempus are an English guitar-based rock band. But then, so were the Smiths and no-one thought they squeezed anyone's lemon.

What should give you a better idea of their sound is that they are seen as apparent heirs to the likes of Starsailor and Embrace, by members of those very bands. So - inoffensive indie rock stomp with no real balls. Mercy has a sinuous lead break, Thieves and Lovers shows they've got a bit more imagination than the average pub band. Trouble is, they're going to need a LOT more and get it recorded.
