First off, yet again The Voltaires have produced a release with great artwork for a seemingly Do It Yourself band.
Onto the music and it is obvious this band is still strongly influenced by The Hives, and they do it very well. But the problem remains the same since I last reviewed The Voltaires in that I don't think The Hives have progressed musically since I first heard them years ago. Is it not time to forge a new path? Well they do seem to have taken on some of the more recent jangly indie pop style made famous by the Libertines, but that's nothing to really shout about.
Stand out tracks on this EP are (I Hate) Saturday Nights which surely could alienate premium DJ time on said night? And It's A Wonder. which is a slower song than the others which are more frenetic, this stands out because it is different and very well played and recorded too.
