Jazz, it doesn't come much better than this. Seriously, if your only introduction has been a £3 bargain bin release of Dave Brubeck and something that Dillinger Escape Plan put out then you definitely need this. Smooth Jazz at its best.
Seriously, silky smooth vocals, fun loving melodies and a chilled out vibe that you only get in a late night bar or club. And that's not one of these discotheque monstrosities that crop up full of lager louts. This is the realm, of smoke filled lounges and singers draped across grand pianos, or your table. This isn't a sole smooth album though, there's the odd near free jazz breakout by Parry's backing band, namely the pianist. That's not a bad thing either, the band excel playing at an almost stand sometimes still and still keeping time.
Seriously, this is good stuff and for a first LP it's certainly worth shelling out for.
