Innerpartysystem starts with their second single 'Die Tonight, Live Forever' (http://www.dieshellsuit.co.uk/article_detail.asp?rID=2888 ), I love the start of this track, and the flow of the song carries you away into the rest of album with the greatest of ease.
The whole album has this immense throbbing pulse of electronics behind it, just like an uplifting progressive house tune but with heavy guitars and vocals which just need to be listened to thrown in for good measure.
It's obvious where these Pennsylvania's guy's influences lay, the heavy rock sound mixed with the electronic flavours. I can imagine a lot of the songs being remixed by both the dance and rock aimed for the dance floors of the clubs around the world and being big floor fillers.
This album has tunes that have a vast range from faster tracks such as 'Don't Stop' to the slower 'Obsession' or 'This Empty Love'. The singer really has a fantastic voice which was easy to understand and a very likeable sound. Some bands don't get the vocals right and can loose their audience because they aren't understandable. This is not the case with Innerpartysystem.
There is a feeling that the band want to offer their music to not just one type of genre, which I like. I have played this album to a few people and it has gone down extremely well.
I'm off to see this band play on their October UK tour and am really looking forward to seeing these tunes being played live. I am expecting such a pressurised performance and them really giving it 100% to their audience.
I like the fact that every track on this album has an introduction, a middle and an end. That may sound strange, but what I mean by that is each track can be listened to on its own. There aren't any fillers on this album, just 12 killers.
