For anyone who doesn't know who Goldblade are, they are a Punk/Rock n Roll throwback who can be compared to The Clash, Sex Pistols and The Misfits. They are fronted by rent an opinion John Robb who everyone will have seen on TV on one of those Top 100 TV fillers programmes.
For the most part Mutiny is a fun selection of songs to listen to and almost every chorus is a shout a long blast. But I have trouble understanding Robb's vocals in the verses and there isn't an original idea on this album. Take for example Riot! Riot! which sounds way too similar to White Riot by The Clash. Also According to the Press Release this song is about 2 gigs Goldblade were playing at when the local police got heavy handed with the audience, but if I hadn't read that on there, I'd have been none the wiser.
Furthermore, City of Ghosts and Riot Squad For Toxic City FC would have been at home on a Misfits album. Finally I have to comment about the last album track Wake Up! Wake Up! You're Already Dead, which lyrically just doesn't make any sense at all. And this from supposedly 'one of the best lyricists in the UK today'.
