I honestly didn't know how to review this CD when it dropped through my letterbox. Although this site professes to cover all genres of music, I think you'll find the majority of news and reviews here tend to be focused on the various genres grouped under 'rock music' (one or two Girls Aloud reviews notwithstanding). So why a PR company would choose to send us an album of instrumental Spanish rumba guitar songs, I don't know. But, I'm always one for a challenge, so I endeavoured to give it a few listens, and I can now say - I definitely don't know how to review this.

Imagine the Buena Vista Social Club. Imagine Santana. Imagine any local flamenco bar band playing at lunchtime in a lazy seafront restaurant in the Costas. It's perfectly listenable, but aside from the frankly stupefying list of instruments used in the recording, and some occasional blues and electronica flourishes to give it a bit of variety, I can't really think of anything exciting to say about it, and I can't think of any reasons to suggest you get yourself a copy. Just wait a few weeks - I'm sure most of the Sunday broadsheets will be giving away a 'Best of Santana' CD before too long.
