New Vinyl - Makin It Easy (Single)

Hailing from the same place that delivered The Cribs to the world, earnest Wakefield boys, New Vinyl already have giant shoes to fill before the release of this debut single - far from easy! The associations with the aforementioned trio stop at the postcode as soon as the music starts.

In this upbeat song the daily grind and gripes of life are shrugged off and whitewashed with cheerful Who-influenced melodies, amongst Brit-pop bravado.

Singer Danny Allison motivates the downtrodden, with lyrics like, "Come on and get a job.it's alright.drink until the sun shines". There's little room for depth or ambiguity in this care-free anthem, the light-hearted message is crystal, find a job, find a partner, get drunk = get happy, but what happens when the sun goes down and sobriety takes hold?
