I have no idea who Jeff Scheetz is, nor have I ever heard of his band. Yes, I am well aware that Wikipedia will tell me all I could ever need to know, but that's cheating really. This CD has been popped into my stereo with no announcement, no press release, nothing - and let's be honest, if you saw a CD in HMV or wherever it is you cool kids buy your records you wouldn't go home and look it up on Wikipedia then rush back and buy it just because Jeff happened to once help to inflate Led Zeppelin, or something. No, what you want to know is whether the record is any good, and ideally you want to know it in the first paragraph so you don't have to read the rest of the review. Well screw you hippie, you'll read it and you'll enjoy it.

This is not, as I first suspected from looking at the cover, a gentle, Garth Brooks esque country lite affair, and I apologise to Mr Scheetz and his associates for ever making that assumption, however briefly it may have been. What it actually is is a gentle, Led Zeppelin esque blues rock lite affair, which is possibly even worse. Not only that, it would appear that the band is overtly Christian, with some frankly cringeworthy lyrics, particularly in the song "Superman", which appears to be comparing the titular superhero to Jesus himself. Although I could be wrong, it might really be about Superman. Hmm.

Anyway, this is Dad music for vicars who want to be "with it" and people with mullets as big as one of the guys in the band photo. Not me.
