I think part of the charm of previous single, Pork And Beans was how, well 'Weezer' it was. No reinvention, no longing to be taken seriously, no pretence just a good old fashioned Weezer song. So why then do I have a problem with new offering Troublemaker?
Personally, it just doesn't feel as though they've tried terribly hard. The lyrics, like Pork And Beans, are self-referential, slightly mocking and mock celebrity culture. The melody is catchy and the track is clearly already a fan favourite.
I agree with the sentiment that, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but perhaps you might want to have someone have a look at it for you?
