Over the years the hardcore scene has broadened its horizons and become a lot more diverse in terms of the bands that are "accepted" within the scene. This has helped launch the fruitful careers of many a band that would not normally fit under the hardcore moniker. Bands such as Saves The Day, My Chemical Romance and Thursday to name but a few. Energy are the latest band to rise up through the ranks and follow in the footsteps of Ambitions and Crime In Stereo and gain a place on the illustrious roster of Peabody, MA label Bridge 9 Records.

Invasions Of The Mind is a showcase on how good melodic punk is when it's done properly, an amazing debut album full of hooks and dare I say it, beautiful melodies. Everything on this record from the guitars, to the vocals scream so harmoniously it could be the soundtrack to your ascension to the pearly gates. This is a nod to AFI, Bad Religion and all those other punk rock bands that the hardcore scene embraced with open arms. This is nothing but pure unadulterated punk rock; pure unadulterated sing along fun. Bridge 9 have proven again they know exactly what's up when it comes to signing absolutely amazing bands and they haven't dropped the ball once since their inception.
