What's Eating Gilbert Grape are an alt. rock band from Cornwall, England. There are some real hints of bands like Jane's Addiction and Tool in their music. Their EP 'A Blue Image' combines chilled out, progressive parts with heavy rock influenced riffs and licks. The six track EP wasn't really what I expected after seeing the album cover, however, it was a pleasant surprise.

I struggle to remember a lot of the songs, as I didn't feel there was enough substance within the EP to keep me gripped, but it was a good listen. Highlight tracks are 'I'm Always' with the brilliant drone like vocals that are a bit reminiscent of Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley, and 'Autumn', which showcases a softer side to the band.
