The eagerly anticipated new album from scouse rockers The Zutons, "You Can Do Anything" is most definitely a great follow-up to their multi-platinum selling albums "Tired of Hanging Around" and "Who Killed the Zutons?" The album begins with a brilliant opening track, 'Harder and Harder'. A calm yet upbeat introduction that announces in the first line, "I need some pretension, someone to show me the way." It's nice to hear that they are still sticking with the foxy saxophone riffs, which set them apart from the usual indie-rock that is about. It is pretty difficult to dislike this track, as it is everything that The Zutons represent, fun and catchy. Another personal favourite from this album is yet another catchy tune, 'What's Your Problem". With a catchy saxophone riff from the off-set this was an instant winner, especially with lyrics such as, "It's gonna get me excited and I'm gonna get violent." It's difficult not to hope that this is the next single that they release after the release of their latest single 'Always Right Behind You', which also makes an appearance. After listening to this track you will find yourself laughing, as it has a very similar sound to that of Slade. Putting Slade aside, this track is destined to be the track that wins the album a spot in the musical limelight. There are a plenty of brilliant tracks to choose from off this brilliant offering from The Zutons. Other highlights of the album include 'Bumbag' and 'Give Me A Reason'. This album is most definitely one that grows on you the more times that you listen to it. It's nice to see that The Zutons have not changed their sound in order to fit in with what is being released at the moment, they have stuck to their guns and it is a relief that they are not selling out.
