It sounded like 'Pure Shores' by All Saints when I first heard it on the album and it sounds even more like it every time I've heard it since (Radio 1 has been going mad for 'I Can Be' for about a month). Taio Cruz is still one of the best producers of pop to rival Team Timbaland around, and in Britain he pretty much is the best. On 'I Can Be' he even does inspirational, up lifting and string-laden R&B as well as anyone on the other side of the Atlantic. On the B-side he's recruited another Brit making waves in America, Estelle, just so we don't get him confused with the Appleton sisters any more I suppose, but she's only on it for about 20 seconds and spends most for that reminding us that we're listening to Taio Cruz and Estelle. Thanks. The proper remix, however, is stuffed fat with every kind of beat going: electro, dancehall, Timbaland, a snippet of Bollywood, and Cruz finally sounds like a world beating pop star rather than a girl group from 1998.
