News - Third Eye Blind Update

An update from Tony of Third Eye Blind:

"Hi everyone. well what can I say? as is the way things tend to go in the world of our band. Taking on building a studio--firing management, putting together the structure of the new 3eb.com as well as putting together our own imprint record label -- with major label distribution -- requires time and energy too. on top of this playing gigs every weekend has sorta thrown us off course - but not out of laziness. all of the above things have required energy - and time. Brad is out touring with his other band as well. People ask about Leo? Leo’s last gigs will be the Japan ones. From there it seems logical that Abe will step in - but I don’t have the final word from Stephan. It seems that regarding recording we are going to have this dude who played bass on tori amos/vannessa’s last record record bass - and Abe play and pick between the two of them. We have gone ahead and hired a publicity firm from NYC-for the full calendar year. I think the goal is to have the record done by Oct- at which time we will go out and do an advance tour, and the record will come out around XMas. Stephan has Ari up at his house working on About to break - this weekend - cuz as of this weekend, the bugs are still not worked out at our studio. I am supposed to be out there to start working on finishing the guitars for the songs this week, which has been going on, will be interrupted by shows in Alaska on thurs through the weekend. I promise everyone here: I will give you video updates and photo’s when the sessions are in full swing. I care about you guys alot. I knew when we were on the road when Stephan was saying we are going to record right when we get off the road that would not take shape--all I can say is that there is more energy being put into this band from Stephan than ever before-I think since the band first formed. Stephan has written lyrics-so the latest delay’s are technical and not creative. The band is touring Japan for the first time in almost 10 years in July. Trust me I know-the only thing you guys want to know about is when when when -- the new album??? Im waiting on a call from sj right now. All I can say is-relax take a month of your summer - and don’t stress: if ever there were a time that our band was on the edges of ending, ITS NOT NOW. I am a little frustrated by the delay, but am positive about the way I see business being handled on the administrative side of things. We were desperatley lacking that. Okay- I will check in soon.
