Jesse McCartney - Leavin' (Single)

As the co-writer of Leona Lewis' worldwide mega hit 'Bleeding Love' expectations of Jesse McCartney are quite high and although 'Leavin'' starts promisingly, all sharp beats, electro blips and production credits for Tricky and The-Dream (The team behind Rihanna's 'Umbrella') it quickly settles into a mid-tempo slump, lacks a killer chorus and soon becomes repetitive, akin to what you'd imagine a reject Justin Timberlake track might sound like. The unexpected MSTRKRFT remix ups the pace and the 'cool' factor, but at the same time renders the track unrecognisable, alternatively the Bimbo and Ralph Rosario radio edits take McCartney down an unadvisable Cascada-esque path. All in the all not the best start to his assault on the UK charts. Listen: www.myspace.com/jessemccartney
