Nick of Hit The Lights has posted an update on MySpace about their new album "Skip School Start Fights" which is released on the 8th of July:

"Hello people, it’s been a while since our last update so I figured we put up a blog letting everyone know what we’ve been up to and what you can expect from us for the rest of this year. Cool? You’re damn right it is! We just got home from being gone a total of 5 months and we’re enjoying hanging with friends and doing absolutely NOTHING. It’s funny to think that we left in the middle of January to record a new album, not really knowing what was going to become of this band (just knowing we had to do it) and returning in mid-June with a milestone of a record, new fans, new shows and a new out look on what this band is. Ohio looks amazing, we couldn’t be happier right now. ON TO BIDNESS:

YOU: Hey Nick, what have you guys been doing?

ME: Oh Holy shit dude what’s up? You’re out of Juvi early, good behavior?

YOU: Nah, just a good lawyer, YOU GONNA DRINK THAT YOOHOO?

ME: Um... yeah I was, but now that you just drank half.... keep it. Well we recorded a brand new record that comes out in less than a month called "Skip School Start Fights", it’s the best thing we’ve ever done.

YOU: Awesome.

ME: Yeah, and we’re back out on the road touring, it’s pretty much the sweetest thing ever, kids have been coming to shows and saying awesome things, we can’t wait to start playing the new songs out!

YOU: You have any tours coming up where you will?

ME: SHYEEAH! We hit the road with our dudes in All Time Low, Valencia, and There for Tomorrow on a short east coast run July 10th through the 21st. PLUS our record comes out July 8th so it’s gonna be sweet!

YOU: Sounds like a blast, you got any beef jerkey? I smell beef jerkey...

ME: Um, yeah, actually I just bought some but you can... have some... you’re eating it all... ANYWAY, on top of all that we’ve got a video coming out for our song "Stay Out" and we have even more sweet tours coming up that we’ll be announcing soon. I can safely say that HTL is coming back in BIG way.

YOU: Hey man, I’m happy for you guys, sounds like stuff is moving along nicely, we’re all proud of you over here.... BURRRRRRRP

ME: Nice! Thanks brother bear, we love hearing that stuff and reading all the sweet comments from the people, it helps us to keep doing what we do. We’re so stoked for you guys to hear the new record that we’ll probably end up slipping clips of new songs here and there, so keep your eyes peeled and ears to the ground! A new song is coming to the myspace soon, be ready and, for God sakes, change your shirt; You’ve got Yoohoo/Jerkey gravy all over the front of it.

YOU: Thanks man! You guys are great, I love you!

ME: The feelings mutual man, completely mutual.
