On the 4th May 2009 Middle Class Rut are set to release a brand new EP showcasing their own take on the classic sounds of Fugazi and Refused style post hardcore. Garnering praise from style bible the NME and being asked to take part in a Zane Lowe session have done nothing but help the band stake their claim as ones to watch.Despite only being a two piece Zack Lopez (vocals/guitar) and Sean Stockham (drums/vocals) manage to create an absolute racket, in the best possible sense of the word of course.
25 Years is a rollercoaster ride of jagged guitars, raspy vocals and absolutely pounding drums and despite the lack of a bassist, sounds absolutely massive. 'I Guess You Could Say' is more than just a nod to In For The Killtaker era Fugazi with it's one chord strummed military styled stompy beat. That track leads in to 'All Walks Of Life' which is more than reminiscent of recent UK starlets The Mystery Jets.
Let's see if they can turn the hype surrounding them into something much, much more.
