I don't like football, really, and mostly I don't like football songs either. The Super Furry Animals did an ok one once I think, and that Primal Scream one was ok, but apart from that. Well, there's Ricky Warwick. Kinda like a sanitised Pogues or a (slightly) rougher Saw Doctors or a more Irish Levellers it's actually quite nice in an inoffensive twee kinda way. The "rock" version is much the same with boring rock guitars and loses much of the charm, but Love Owes is by far the best song on the CD. Like a cross between Johnny Cash's version of Personal Jesus and Sixteen Horsepower's Clogger it's nothing like the title track and all the better for it.
