When listening to this, I think of people I describe as those who are "not of this time" simply because they appear to be trapped within their own personal re-enactment of musical eras they never lived through but are nevertheless nostalgic for. Sugar Mouse is certainly a song which will have most people searching for their old Mama's and Papa's CD's

However derivative it is of that sound it still maintains a certain uniqueness. The part that really stands out for me the most is the hauntingly hollow sounding vocal harmonies. It has a folky feel to it but is just about pop enough to appeal to anyone who owns a Feist or Wannadies album.

If you're planning to have any summertime picnics this year then definitely play this in the car on the way there as it will really put you in the right mood for it!
