I’ve always been a bit perplexed by Underoath - their music's always been decent on first listen to me - but something seems to fade away and I lose interest. So with that partially in mind I threw this single in the CD player hoping that I’d be shown something new (as I’d pretty much been unaware of the album this is linked to existing - apart from the buzz saw shaped vinyl).

Which I was. Though... it wasn’t all good.

First thing that grabs me is that the songs not really a traditional "single". Sure there’s an oft-repeated hook but nothing else really grabs you until it’s too late. True, the melodies soar and compared to most of Underoaths output it’s quite relaxing. But with every listen I feel I’ve missed the point of the whole thing.

Average track - which doesn’t make me want to look any further.
