Released alongside the remastering of their 1994 debut album Motorcade of Generosity, this collection of nuggets shows CAKE at their best. Short Skirt, Long Jacket deserves a wider audience than that of the film Waitress, Thrills gazes at the underbelly of America in a manner sadly lacking in these days of Obama-philia - even their cover of Mahna, Mahna manages to break free from the Muppet stranglehold. In short, throw away your easy musical boxes. File under (slightly) queasy listening.
