The Soft Close-Ups' promo suffers slightly under the DIY production values. It suffers more under the combination of awful bedsit Soft Cell and self-absorbed, Tesco's value-brand Smiths impersonations. Fireworks is probably the least tedious track on offer here, sounding like some experiment by Phil Oakey's less annoying younger brother. As for the rest, it's private school Erasure finding musical meaning in the Early Learning Centre. Virgins may cry.
