Starting with a riff emulating the quick drill of a car engine as it races away from traffic lights, The Gay Blades accelerate into catchy pop punk, come glam-rock with, Hey She Say.
This digital single, another offering from the New Jersey outfit's debut Ghosts, is an angular anthem that etches into your brain with familiarity, like We Are Scientists disguised by the rugged-glam of Backyard Babies.
Singer, Clark Westfield pulls you in as he wrenches his words right out of him as the riffs build all around, enclosing you. A demonstration as to why The Gay Blades deserve some attention, well particularly in this instance.
