A monstrous anaconda of a riff drives this airbrushed stoner anthem. There's not much else, to be honest - this isn't Mastodon with their 6-minute operas, you know. Anyway, Check My Brain certainly bodes well for the new album Black Gives Way To Blue. A good thing too, since it's taken ten years to arrive. Elton John guests on it and. . . .wait. . .come back. . .no, don't go, it's probably not that bad. . .
