I suppose it would only be right to stick this at the poppier end of 'landfill' indie, if only because it's on Warner Brothers so they'll inevitably piss thousands away producing too many CDs, then blame it all on Internet piracy. In an ideal world, those CDs would get sold, since it's a decent enough tune. The music could easily have come from Coldplay, Doves, Elbow, or dozens of other white boys with guitars, but the vocals add a level of melancholy, with echoes of Neil Tennant sounding even more delicate and quite effeminate on the choruses.
A worthy addition to a summer evening mix.
