Submitted: "There’s never a dull moment in the life of Tobias Hayes. Having spent years rocking out in Meet Me In St Louis (vocals) and Shield Your Eyes (bass/vocals), he has spent the past 12 months focussing on his solo project, Shoes And Socks Off. In September 2008, one afternoon whilst sitting on a chest of drawers in his East London flat, he recorded his first album. Released in December, this was followed in the summer by a second record comprised of the same 10 tracks, ripped apart and reworked with a full band. And as if that wasn’t enough, the next December saw the release of album number three, a mix of solo acoustic songs and guest appearances from some very talented friends. He ended 2009 on the Big Scary Monsters Christmas tour with Kevin Devine, and began the new year back out on the road, playing a number of free shows with labelmates Talons. So, with three albums already under his belt, where next for the heavily bearded man?

March 22nd will see the release of ’Pipeton’, a 6 track, free download EP featuring covers of some of Toby’s biggest influences. Tracklisting:

1. Lounge Act (Nirvana)
2. Not Ready Yet (Eels)
3. You Said Something (PJ Harvey)
4. Wolf At The Door (Radiohead)
5. Tame (Pixies)
6. To Forgive (Smashing Pumpkins)

The EP will be available from www.bsmrocks.com and a number of other websites, with an "enjoy this and share with your friends" policy very much encouraged.

After this, it’ll be off to the studio where Shoes And Socks Off album number four will be recorded, with a late July release currently planned, preceeded by a busy touring schedule and a re-release of the first three records, re-packaged together as one with bonus content and unreleased tracks. Also look out for the first Shoes And Socks Off book, coming later on in 2010."
