Andrew Morris frequently receives plaudits as being 'a new generation David Gray', apparently. Which is all well and winsome, except that what they don't tell you is that he sounds more like a young Chris de Burgh. So if musical Magnolia moves you, get stuck in. This ex-lawyer will soothe you like only an ex-lawyer with a wobbly, dry voice can. Morris also seems to be following in the coat-tails of a certain James Blunt, with his light, acoustic-driven, mildly irritating romantic whimsy. Personally, I feel sorry for David Gray - not something I ever thought I would say but at least something positive has come out of this otherwise sterile experience.
