Chase This City are a pretty new Lancastrian band - having only formed in 2008 - but they seem to have garnered some pretty good attention in that time. Claiming to draw comparison to My Chemical Romance and Avenged Sevenfold - I had to delve further.
To be fair I hear none of the above - what I do hear is potential. The tunes are spiky enough - with just the right tinge of punkiness and attitude. But the songs don’t really hold up on their own too well - coming off flat in too many places and failing to draw you in at all.
The vocals also come off a bit flat in places - maybe with a slightly better production behind them they could improve this.
Just a bit of polishing here and there and they may have something...
