Benjamin Shaw - I Got The Pox, The Pox Is What I Got

Strawberry Fields mellotron, lo-fi samples, noise and acoustic guitar. It could be Flying Saucer Attack but thanks to Mr. Shaw's stumbly crackle of a voice, it isn't. Nick Drake is another reference point but this could be an middle-class English Josh T. Pearson or countrified Beefheart - too apathetic to be cross but just as surreal and just as violent, at times ('I want to push cream through the holes in my skin 'til I'm tasty'). This is probably enjoyed from the wrong side of a bottle of wine, like the singer appears to be.
