Review - Strawberry Blondes - Fight Back

Strawberry Blondes - Fight Back

View The Review

6 out of 10

Surfing a wave leading back through Rancid, the Offspring, all the way to the mighty Clash, Newport's Strawberry Blondes fight for their right to punk. The requisite subjects are here in all their bellowed, shouty glory; boredom, frustration, anger, unemployment, social decay, etc. etc. And all with a knife-sharp delivery to loosen the bowels of any Daily Mail-reading scaredy-cat. All to the good - although I'm not sure what they mean when they describe their music as 'culturally positive' when they have a song titled Culture Sucks The Life Out Of Me but that's just me being my usual pedantic self. Viva la revolucion!
