Celeste mean business. 'Seven songs of pure hopelessness and despair', they say. We have been warned. And from the first, brain-shredding near-white noise riffs which open this musical void, we are rightly afraid. There's a break for (S), during which you may feel the need to go in search of your soul during its relatively calm intro. That's despite the sounds of what appears to be a woman being chased and caught by something not very nice, of course. I feel the album is more 'heavy going' than simply 'heavy', thanks to the over-reliance on ultra-high gain and the moments the vocalist sounds like Noddy Holder screaming-high on Angel Dust and being sick. Apart from that, it's not très bad.
