I can only imagine how awesome it is to be in The Zutons. Every morning, waking up in a pretty plush house, putting on some pretty expensive clothes & going out in your pretty expensive car & just thinking "God Bless Royalties". Every since Mark Ronson bastardized The Zutons "Valerie" I imagine they've been rolling in it. Every time Amy Winehouse rolls out of a club with needles hanging out of her arm or with a new tattoo done in biro on her tits you always here the chimes of "Valerie" in the background. Kerching.
So, after a while holidaying & spending their royalties, The Zutons have clearly got bored and decided to release something new. "What's Your Problem" is the second single off their third album entitled "You Can Do Anything" and it's pretty typical Zutons. Friendly & foot tapping indie that sounds a little bit like Reef if they had talent & had never released "Put Your Hands On" or whatever it's called. The thing I like about this song is that the lyrics are kind of aggressive but the song is really happy & joyful. There's nothing much to this track, it's not particularly ground breaking and the musicianship isn't exactly incredible but it's just a good song. The best thing about The Zutons is that they are not the world's most talented band but it's the feel of their songs that makes them good. It's just a shame this is being released in September and not May because I really think this would've been a massive summer hit.
Two final things:
1. I really wish their new album was called "You Can Do Anything (After Mark Ronson ruined one of your tunes but you got rich off the royalties)"
2. Even if this was dog shit I would've still given it 8/10 because the saxophonist is really fit.
