Sounding a little like a much better version of The Academy Is.You Me At Six have produced two minutes and 58 seconds of almost perfect radio pop despite having a ridiculously silly name. Instantly memorable and possessing the annoying stick-in-your-head quality that comes from decent song writing, 'Gossip' is a fun, bouncy summer anthem that is likely to ride high in the charts when it is released. It is easy to see why I saw so many You Me At Six tees at this year's Download Festival - the music is accessible, undemanding and upbeat. The band themselves look like they stepped right out of a rougher British version of High School Musical, and I can't help but feel this makes them fairly decent teen role models.
The band have already supported New Found Glory, The Audition and Angels & Airwaves this year and have also been out on their own sold out UK tour including this year's T in the Park. Go and buy this record and give it to a teenager. They'll love it and you might too.
