This 5 track EP is a diatribe of ferocious and blistering angular hardcore, and arguably some of the best being made in the UK today, and we yet again have indie stalwarts Big Scary Monsters to thank for this. First off, I fucking love this record. I love the way that it's hard work. I love that it's a challenge and I love the crushing sense of unease and apprehension that the record effortlessly conjures.

I have no doubt that this will get the usual white-wash of 'At The Drive-In' and 'Refused' comparisons, which in many ways is fair enough on the exterior. However there's more to this band, more tenacity, more audacity, more, well, arrogance almost.

The record begins with unexpected calm, reminiscent of 'God Is An Astronaut', so we are disarmed and ultimately kicked in the face with the turbulent and unforgiving 'Zeros And Noughts', which smashes through like a freighter. This ire is maintained throughout the record by a course of epic, off kilter and discordant tracks, each one further cementing the bands vitality and importance.

I actually hate the fact I haven't seen these guys yet, but I've got the record. What's your excuse?
