Review - The Chemists - Hear Our Song (Single)

The Chemists - Hear Our Song (Single)

5 out of 10

Citing influences as varied as Doves, the Police and Queens of the Stone Age, this band of Bristolian musical sorcerers manage to sound more like a room crammed with U2, Pearl Jam and the Kaiser Chiefs. There is no 'room' large enough for such ambitions, of course, and this is the sound of a group with their eyes fixed on Olympic-sized stages the world over. Vedder-ish vocals surf atop a tsunami of superclub-friendly rock (F-bomb omitted for the radio, of course). The remix pumps it up still further, shaking the eyeballs even at low volume.

Will the Chemists get to explode at a megadome near you? Well, it won't be for want of trying. And if they don't, rest assured clothes-shop radio will be falling over themselves.
