If marks out of ten were given for intent, this industrial quintet would be casting their black eyes at five-plus. Oh, yeah. They mean it. Unfortunately, what with them sounding like a slowed-down Cradle of Filth fronted by a fifteen year-old, we're looking at yet another tiresome dissection of not so much 'metal' as 'iron filings'. The opening track is the best on offer here; this is mostly due to its title and the very weak echoes of Raging Speedhorn scratching at the edges. The industrialists amongst you may be able to forgive the mumbling, Linkin Park-style break. I cannot.

The Ocean is not a Led Zep cover, thankfully. It does contain the best lyric of the album though - 'the crashing waves keep the beat of the night'. This line loses its effect somewhat by being repeated ad nauseum - a style of musical recycling which appears elsewhere on the album, to little effect. Hyenas grinds its way through a tale of rage at cookery on television cop shows, what with its preoccupation with 'recipes of The Bill' and the steely decision 'I've decided not to let you burn' of which Gordon Ramsay would be proud. The Blood of Goliath descends into vocal vomit at speed, which leaves us with the irony of attempted-epic This Glorious Fall. At six minutes plus its doomed leap for the majestic sums things up well.
