For the past three years Oxford based four piece Baby Gravy have been spreading their dark yet danceable, infectious but experimental electronic swaddle across Blighty, stopping off at various places including Wales, Bath and London. Their latest offering is the early morning realisation of "Did It Again" and much like the hangover it suggests, the slow paced synth meanders its way around its listener's head, whispering reminders of something that is on the end of your tongue and nevertheless you are unable to put a finger on it. But why not? Try it, it tastes sweet.
Like an edgier Human League, lead singer Iona sounds like the abandoned child of Jamie T and Gwen Stefani left on Barbara Gogan's doorstep. Clearly enjoying all things 80s, Baby Gravy carry this across in both the look and style of their dress sense and also the video for this song, which appears to have been filmed in Ferris Bueller's bedroom whilst being lit by the light bulb botherers behind "Living is a Problem Because Everything Dies" by Biffy Clyro.
This post punk electro outing is guaranteed to give your feet Parkinson's as they gravitate towards the dance floor and is precisely the sort of tune that those wizards behind Skins are likely to have their drug fuelled Bristolians caper about to.
Baby Gravy are on tour now. Go. See.
